Many initiatives have been taken in order to destroy America as a Nation. and World events from the proper Catholic perspective. I was wondering what your take is on all this, since I usually rely on TIA's staff and contributors for keen analysis on U.S. Learning of the Catholic history in the South and Pope Pius IX's support of Jefferson Davis, I have come to admire the Confederacy and the South's hierarchal, aristocratic culture. Do you think this issue with the Confederate flag is a 'trial balloon'? That is, the powers that be are watching for our reaction to it.Īt one time, being a Northener and even having New England roots, I too disdained the Confederacy and grew up believing in the Confederate Flag as 'racist'. The endgame may be for the 'First-World' Nations to give up their idea of flag and thus nation. I tend to believe that this push is really the backdrop for a push to remove our nation's own flag from moments and such, since the argument against the display of the Confederate flag can be extended to the flag of the United States, as even in the North, slavery still existed, among other things. I have to admit my ignorance regarding the relatively recent media push for the removal of Confederate flags.
