In fact, there was a very strong petition started on this site that won favor in the school district that allowed for this GSA to happen. The younger generation is also very open minded about rights for their fellow LGBT colleagues and student organizations such as the Gay Straight Alliance at King High School and Flour Bluff High School can attest to this.
Corpus Christi is a very open minded city, this can be proven with the sheer number of successful gay bars that exist in the city, and is ready to accept Gay Marriage Rights for its fellow citizens. On September 27, 2012, Austin, Texas succeeded in legalizing gay marriage in their city and it's not a secret that Corpus Christi has a very large LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered) population.
